Fresh Voices, Fresh Perspectives
Girls Talk Books was born out of frustration.
Why are diverse voices only highlighted during Black History Month? Why are stories of joy, success, and everyday life overlooked by agents and publishers in favor of narratives centered on struggle, stereotypes, or the same familiar themes—hair, sports, and dancing?
Diverse stories are being written. But while major publishers may dismiss them as not the right “fit,” we know better. We believe in uplifting authors who bring authenticity, depth, and cultural richness to the literary world.
On Girls Talk Books, celebrating diversity in publishing isn’t a trend or a “feel-good” initiative—it’s our mission. It’s real. It’s necessary. So, let’s talk. Let’s amplify voices. Let’s change the narrative.
